Spice of India Richmond is a hidden gem located at 106 N 7th St, Richmond, VA. This unassuming eatery impresses diners with its flavorful Indian cuisine, garnering rave reviews from local food lovers. The standout offerings include the richly flavorful Butter Chicken, which many describe as tender and moist, contrasted beautifully by the delectable Garlic Naan that leaves patrons yearning for more.

Came for the buffet which was great. I'm not claiming it's authentic because I have no idea but I stuffed my face and was able to skip dinner so it was like 2 meals in one :D It appear the city charges 2 different taxes so the final amount was more like 18 after tax and tip but I assume this is the norm for the area (tourist)

Hands down best and most true Indian hot cuisine in Richmond. I had the pleasure of enjoying this food while on-call for Thanksgiving. The hospital cafeteria was overrun and Spice of India saved the day. Best thanksgiving of all time. I am going back.

This is a small, unassuming, hole-in-the-wall Indian restaurant but the food is delicious! My daughter and I saw a sign on the side of the road that said Indian Buffet so we were eager to try it out. Unfortunately, they don't serve the buffet on Saturdays :( Another couple also came in and went straight to the empty buffet. If I could change anything about this place, I'd say they should serve the buffet on weekends too. I ordered the Butter Chicken which was so soft and tender and not dry like I've had at other restaurants. The Garlic Naan was so good we had to order a second plate of it. My daughter had the Paneer which she said was very good. I'm not sure why, but our water didn't come with ice. (Another thing I would probably ask them to change). All-in-all, we enjoyed the food and would come back again whenever we're in Richmond.

Don't let the location detour you, if you like Indian food you'll enjoy the food here. The Mango Curry and garlic naan were delicious.

Really loved the garlic naan and sag paneer. They can do mild which is great for folks who can't handle spice. The Butter Chicken had a nice rich flavor and soft chicken. Just know that they don't do the buffet in the weekend.

I had the pleasure of visiting Spice of India, and it was an exceptional experience. The staff was very attentive and friendly, providing excellent service throughout our meal. The food was absolutely delicious. The dishes were full of flavor, and the spices were perfectly balanced. We tried several dishes, and each one exceeded our expectations. The portions were generous, and the freshness of the ingredients was evident in every bite. Additionally, the variety of the menu offers options for both those seeking something mild and those who love more intense flavors. Without a doubt, Spice of India has earned a special place on our list of favorite restaurants. I highly recommend it 100%, and I will definitely be back soon!

An absolute hidden gem. Clean and quiet place that should be packed. I had a lamb curry - tender, melt in the mouth delicious lamb. And the dal (lentils) was also excellent. Flavors were nuanced and delicious. Thank you. What a delight to find this place on a flight diversion.
